About Dominique Stelling | Self-Mastery, Inner Alchemy & The Pure State
About

My greatest teacher arrived disguised as the life I never wanted.

My journey into this work began at eighteen, when chronic Lyme disease changed the course of my life and ended the future I imagined for myself as a dancer. For years I searched for ways to get back to the life I had lost. I fought my body, resisted my circumstances and believed healing meant defeating what was happening to me.

The Turning Point

The obstacle can become the teacher.

Eventually, exhausted by the fight, I began to ask a different question: what if this was not only something happening to me? What if it had something to teach me?

Illness became my dragon. At first I tried to slay it. Eventually I learned to ride.

What once felt only like a curse also became a profound teacher. I would never romanticize suffering or suggest that every painful experience is a gift. But I learned that we can choose what we make from what has happened to us. That is the inner alchemy at the heart of my work.

Today I guide others through their own dragons, not by promising a life without difficulty, but by helping them build the inner steadiness, agency and self-trust to meet life differently.

Life does not have to become easier for you to become more powerful within it.

The Realization
What I found wasn’t a cure. It was a return: what you are looking for is never lost, only forgotten, and it can be found again.

Bhutan & Living Wisdom

What Bhutan asked me to remember.

Walking with Tibetan Rinpoches and monks, I wasn’t handed techniques. I encountered a way of living wisdom rather than merely understanding it, and it changed how I work with every client.

Once a year I return to Bhutan, and bring a small group with me.

Philosophy & Method

The Pure State Framework™. One spine, three movements.

Regulate, Recalibrate, Embody: a practice of self-mastery: steadiness first, then honest seeing, then living the change. Inside it live my named tools: the P.U.R.E. process (Problem · Understand · Reframe · Evolve) that rewrites the belief under the pattern, and the T.E.A. approach (Thoughts · Emotions · Actions) that turns new thinking into lived steadiness.

It isn’t therapy, and it isn’t advice. It is a structured return to the state that was always yours.
